What’s a web trend from the early 2000s you miss?
What about that trend made it stand out to you back then?
Do you think this trend would still appeal to users today? Why or why not?
Was there a specific website or feature that embodied this trend perfectly for you?
What other trends from the early web do you think deserve a comeback?

Let us know! ๐Ÿ‘‡

@aevisia not exactly a trend, but I miss people putting their stuff on actual websites instead of google docs or discords…

Yeah I miss that too. When things were a little more personal. A growing number of people are slowly starting to pick that back up again though! ๐Ÿ™‚ With the Sovereign Web, Indie Web, and similar movements I think we’ll start to see a lot more of that again.

@aevisia @sovereignweb @indieweb @neocities @smallweb @webdev @blog @webdesign I miss the web being an actual web, with links backwards and forwards, with links to and from all the cool stuff people were doing or liked or just found plain funny, for the sole intent of sharing it.

    Not for advertising pennies.

I agree. It makes me sad that most people now associate owning a website with owning a business. Having a personal site is such a creative way to share hobbies and personal interests. I really hope to see personal website building movements gain traction. I know a lot of people are unhappy with the current state of corporate social media, yet, despite it most people don’t seem to want to be bothered to leave or explore alternatives.
